When we celebrate the national birthday of the greatest country ever to exist in all of human history, PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO HONOR THOSE WHO SACRIFICED EVERY THING TO KEEP OUR COUNTRY FREE.
Without them, we won't be so blessed to have -
* Fresh air to breath
* Clean water to drink
* Maine lobsters to chew
* New York steak to chow
* California strawberries to bite
* Florida oranges to taste
* 58 national parks to sightsee
* uncensored internet to surf
* more & more
Many years ago, I joined the crowd on the front lawn of the US Capitol to celebrate this annual event. When it was announced that "For those who are serving or have served in the military, please stand up when your service song is played." As a proud employee of an aerospace & defense giant, I almost stood up though I was neither serving nor had served in the U.S. military.
This year, I will do a grand standing, not a politician's one, in front of my "big" screen (42") TV, swing my arms back and forth, march in place, and hum along to a tune from the concert.
At the end of this message, please allow me to share one of John F. Kennedy's Quotes with you -
“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.”
“It is the love of country that has lighted and that keeps glowing the holy fire of patriotism.”
- J. Horace McFarland
